Recently I changed the living room set up. Rearranged the furniture, made a cushion for the bay window and stuff like that. I got to thinking about the fireplace and how I wish it has something that would let more heat into the room. So I began researching ovens.
I quickly got to Cob Ovens and the rocket stoves. But they were so big and in a style that would not work in our home. And really, this is the fireplace I had to work with.
I couldn’t find a rocket …
Like all reasonable children my daughter loves the hollidays. It doesn’t matter which holliday and it seems that every month is filled with at least one to tantilize the mind. And after Christmas every holliday brings with it the promise of great gifts and joy.
Valenstien day ( the day of loving beer) is just past and she somehow caught wind of something called Saint Patrick’s day, and the idea left her full of wonder.
“Dad?” she asked me, “Does Saint Patrick’s day have anything to do with Saint Patrick …
Sxip came to town and his band Luminescent Orchestrii played a show at the Gravity Lounge. I went and saw it and had a great time. It was really good to see my old friend Sxip, too.
While talking Sxip asked if I would post Push Push Videos on YouTube, so I have started with a video that was already posted on this website. The first YouTube posting, as link-to below, is Pie In Your Face and by posting it on YouTube I don’t have to have it on …
I found two outstanding music related video on YouTube. Well worth the visit.
The first is called Hyperactive.
Which is a great video.
The second one is of a guy who made a cardboard bass. But I will just put in the Link-To for that.

I went to visit Citizen Keith and found his link to a uTube Video The Worlds most important 6 second loop… it is a must watch for any aspiring musicians out there…
I was able to sample small parts of the audio from it and incorporate it into this weeks song, and that was a lot of fun.
Last night Addie and I were making up stories as we were doing night time procedures.
Here is one I made up, and then I’ll tell one that Addie made …
Hey. Today’s music is an old one. The Only Sin ©2006. I don’t think I’ve published it before.
I am taking a break for a few weeks.
Yesterday Addie was downstairs doing the breakfast thing and asked Laura how to spell the word “Enter”. Laura answered her and we went about our morning routine.
Later I was upstairs with Addie and while I was getting ready she was playing at her art table. She went over to her door and began using stickers to put something up on the door. …
Today’s songcast is a piece for oboe with bassoon. The whole thing started off as something completely different, more of a soundtrack like thing, then boom this jumps in from out of nowhere. Isn’t that the way it works sometimes. As usual you can find info about the songcasts under the songcast link under More Sonicist Stuff.
Or you can just click on the link:
Last night we went to sleep with the window open and the night air turned cool in that mid-spring kind of way that encourages one to …

The One String Bow Bass is created from a 5 foot x 1 1/4 inch PVC pipe. Cut it to 3’4″ length. Save remaining pipe.
Attach Key in opening on cut end. Key may need to be disassembled. Drill hole into front of pipe large enough for key stem.. Drill second (smaller) hole into back so that screw driver will fit, to reassemble key.
At about 2 or 3 inches from the bottom, drill small hole angled toward the bottom opening. Be sure it is aligned with Key Stem …

I have been working on a cheap homemade one string bowable bass – just for the fun of it. I have the instrument mostly done, more on that later… but now I need to figure out how to get a pick-up into it. My research lead me to a neat site, for interest only. I will not be trying to make my own pickup.
