Trip to Florida

We took advantage of some travel Laura had to do, and crammed ourselves into a hotel room and went to Florida.
Addie must be in a stage of some sort, because at the beginning she kept wandering away from us. We spoke sternly with her a few times, but it didn’t really make an impact. It wasn’t until we were on an elevator did she actually get the lesson.
The door opened and some people walked off and Addie went right along with them.
She turned around in time to see …

Summer’s End – Deathly

Summer’s warmth and life has passed and yet the fact that it is fall has not slowed down life here. There has been an explosion of activity.
Besides getting Addie into her new school and Griffin back at his day-care, we have been busy going to concerts. This summer we saw Ke$ha at the Ohio State Fair, and then we did Brittany, which was not good (but thanks to LJ for getting the tickets anyway), and most recently we all saw Katy Perry in concert, which was very good – …

Solo Jam

The song today isn’t great. It is just a song. Hardly even that. It is instruments making noise at the same time to a rhythm.
I’ve always hated that word, Rhythm. I guess it is because when I was young

Drums, Baby

This morning Griffin wanted to make music. So we went into the basement, plugged in the guitar and he told me the basic guitar line to play. “dja dja dja dja” and I found the notes as best I could. Added some embellishments and he recorded a simple phase over the music. I then went back and quickly put on the drum, bass and second guitar and here is it (see below). I love the way he says, “Drum, baby.”
The picture is of Addie at Fairy Tale Farms where she …

Visitor and New Video

Marta visited us from Croatia and it was a wonderful time. I learned to cook many delicious Croatian food including a cake that was amazing. I suppose she’s been gone 8 or 9 days now, and the kids were really sad to see her go. While she was here we felt more like a family than we had in a while. We took her to the Zoo and to the Franklin Conservatory where we watched butterfly releases and saw the large koi in today’s picture.
In other news the kids …

Help Me

The song today is simplicity.
Three chords, no change, drum guitar bass vocals.
In other news we have a house guest from Croatia, one of Laura’s colleagues from when we were in Croatia.
The photo is another from New Zealand. It is a statue is one of the fantastic gardens in Christchurch.
Hm. Maybe it’s a mood thing but I can’t really think of anything else to add right now.

Got this song kicking round. Every way I approach this thing it just makes it worse. So I laid it out straight. In my garage band? To get a good look and see. I hit save and whatever. And, this is what I got.
I won’t even try to add to it with a picture.
Just, what ever it is.

What To Do With Other Songs

Alright, so tonight I was trying to find a recent project on my computer. I found myself sifting through a long list of songs I started but never finished or never posted, and I came across the song I’ve linked at the end of this post.
If you listen to it you will be able to tell I was exposed to some Devo in my youth. I have no clue when I wrote this song, and only vaguely remember doing so. A side note about me; most of the songs …
